Coming Up: Musicality workshop, combined with Movie Night. First we'll have a
workshop on dancing to the music, the most important thing in your dance. When
an Argentine hears the word "tango", he first thinks of the music, not the
dance. The dance is a shared conversation about the music. If you are not
expressing the music in your dance, why dance? Then we will watch "Cafe de los
Maestros". This movie is a documentary that traces the history of tango
music through the memories of orchestra members. We follow them with informal
interviews before a major performance at the celebrated Teatro Colón in
Buenos Aires. The interviews and performance include Mariano Mores, Aníbal
Arias, Ernesto Baffa, Virginia Luque and more. Very cool!
See the Upcoming Workshops page for details on some of the workshops that I teach. Many of these are out of town, when I am invited to a community to teach as a visiting instructor. Keep on the lookout for more scheduled.
